Day 1 : ARRIVAL
in PHNOM PENH
Morning arrival at
Phnom Penh Airport. Transfer to your hotel (room may not
be ready until begining afternoon). With your professional guide
and prived car we start to visit Phnom Penh . Situated
at the confluence of the Mekong and Tonle Sap Rivers, the Cambodia's
capital city look like a big village- town where French colonial
influences can still be seen in old buildings restored. We will
first go to see Wat Phnom Temple.
Then we will visit the Royal Palace and the Silver
Pagoda . The Palace is a magnificent example of Khmer architecture,
it was built in 1866. You will see the Throne Hall and the Napoleon
III Pavilion. Silver Pagoda is one of the richest shrines
in the world . The floor is made of 5.000 silver tiles. We will
then continue to the National Museum, housed in a traditional
red pavilion, which is dedicated exclusively to Khmer art and
sculpture. The majority of the exhibits are from the Angkor period
(9th to 15th Century), but some date from as early as the 4th
Century.
and we will enjoy a boat cruise on the Mekong River to
see Phnom Penh from the river, and watching the sunset
over Phnom Penh. overnight in hotel
Day 2 : PHNOM
PENH /SIEM REAP
Transfer to the the harbour at 6 AM
transfer to the speed boat to Siem Reap-Angkor. (about
5 hours boat) . Landscape and scenic views of the Cambodian
rural life along the riverbank (optional by air, extra 45 dollars). at
arrival in Siem reap , transfer to your hotel . Siem Reap is
the nearest town to the famous complex of Angkor.From
the 9th to 15th century, Angkor was the heart of a sophisticated
civilisation. We will see massive stone monuments. We will start
visit with professional guide and private car by Angkor Wat.
Afternoon dedicated to visit the most famous temple magnificent
Angkor Wat. This architectural masterpiece was constructed
in the 12th century and covers an area of about 210 hectares.
Beautifull carved bas- reliefs on the outer walls and corridors,
depicting mythological scenes of Ramayana and day to day life
at the time of Angkor's building. late afternoon we will visit
Bakheng Temple on the top of a hill with spectacular views
over Angkor Wat and watch sunset on all Angkor site. overnight
in hotel
Day 3 : ANGKOR
(Siem Reap)
We start by visit with professional guide and private car, the
"Great City" of Angkor ThomVisits include the
famous Bayon Temple, Phimeanakas Temple within
the Royal Palace enclosure , Baphuon Temple, the
Terrace of the Elephants and the Terrace of the Leper
King.
Afternoon will include the visits of Thommanon, Takeo,
one of Angkor's great mountains temple, Ta Prohm who become
part of the jungle, Banteay Kdei with attractive carvings,
Srah Srang, Prasat Kravan unique brick sculptures. We
will visit Les Chantiers Ecole, a handicraft center located
in the center of Siem Reap. Les Chantiers Ecole was founded
in 1992 and its aim is to revive that ancient Khmer art. This
organization gives young people the opportunity to learn the
art of stone and wood carving, and silk weaving .
Day 4: VISIT BANTEAY
SREI / KOBAL SPIEN / ROLUOS
Morning we will visit
the enchanting Banteay Srei. It appears that the temple
was designed to leave no space undecorated, and the fine carvings
in pink sandstone are quite unique. We will continue after by car to
a place named Kbal Spien and continue our journey on foot,
following a white sand path through the beautiful forest. several
narrow and steep passages , after approximately 40 minutes walk,
we will hear the sound of a waterfall . the riverbed and the
rocks around, are covered with carvings representing the gods
of the Brahma religion dating back as far as the 11th century,
its the "thousand Lingas Rivers" The water runs
over the sculptures of Vishnu, Lakshmi, Hanuman, Rama and many
Lingas, which were carved in stone in the past to sanctify the
water and to thank the gods .The
next visit will be to Banteay Samre, with elaborate architecture
and exceptional carvings, and we will visit a local village.
Afternoon, we will visit the earliest temples of Angkor area
a the Roluos group. The three Roluos temples have been
in years 877 to 889. They are the Bakong Temple Mountain
with beautiful carvings on the false doors and lintels, the funerary
temple of Preah Ko, and Lolei Temple.
Day 5 : BOAT RIDE
TONLE SAP LAKE/ FISHERMANS VILLAGE/ SILK FARM
This morning we will enjoy a boat ride on the Tonle Sap lake.
This is the largest permanent fresh-water lake in South East
Asia and flows into Tonle Sap River, joining the Mekong in Phnom
Penh. We will see a fishermen's "floating village"
with floatting schools, floatting police station, etc. It is
same as a big village floatting on the lake, and the "village"
move from place to place following water levels and curant.
we will visit Siem
Reap central market and the Silk Farm in Puok, established
by a French NGO to revive Cambodia's beautiful silk production.
We can see every step of silk production and visit of Les Chantiers Ecole, a handicraft center located in the
center of Siem Reap founded in 1992 to revive ancient art of
Khmer.
Day 6: BENG MEALEA/ PHNOM
KOULEN
Today we will visit
Beng Melea Temple very romantic temple which is still
lost in the jungle. You will be same as the discoverer one century
ago....A rather bumpy 2-3 hours drive through the beautiful countryside
takes us there. Beng Melea is almost the size of Angkor Wat and
is one of the largest ensembles build during the Khmer Kingdom.
It is enclosed by a huge moat of 1200m x 900m and the temple
presents in places a veritable chaos of fallen debris beside
areas that remain absolutely intact - but everywhere vegetation
reigns as master. During our visit we will have to walk over
ruins and climb over stones and scultures to fully explore this
site. The decoration of Beng Malea is simple and animated in
certain areas but you can find several bas-reliefs showing scenes
from the Khmer Mythology. Early afternoon we will drive on a
logging highway along Phnom Koulen important holy place
for bouddhist Khmers. Late afternoon return to Siem Reap
Day 7: SIEM REAP (ANGKOR)
