Day 1 : ARRIVAL in PHNOM
PENH
Morning arrival at
Phnom Penh Airport. Transfer to your hotel. After your lunch,
start visits of Phnom Penh. Situated at the confluence of the
Mekong and Tonle Sap Rivers, Cambodia's capital city resembles
a country town. French colonial influences can still be seen,
with many impressive old buildings restored to their former glory.
We will first climb steps up a small hill to see Wat Phnom
Temple, from where we can enjoy views over the tree lined
avenues of Phnom Penh. According to legend, this temple on a
hill (Phnom in Cambodian language) was built by a lady called
Penh - hence the city name of Phnom Penh. Then we will visit
the Royal Palace and the Silver Pagoda. The Palace is
a magnificent example of Khmer architecture, although it was
built as recently as 1866. We will see the Throne Hall and the
charming Napoleon III Pavilion. The Silver Pagoda is one
of the richest shrines in the world - it has a magnificent floor
made up of over 5,000 solid silver tiles and is home to two priceless
Buddha statues. Please note that in case of bad weather sightseeing
will be done by car only. Late afternoon we will take a walk
along Phnom Penh's riverfront promenade - a popular evening gathering
place for the city's residents and we will enjoy a boat cruise
on the Mekong River to see Phnom Penh from the river, and
watching the sunset over Phnom Penh..
Day 2 : PHNOM PENH
Morning we will visit
the Royal University of Fine Arts. Revived after the many
years of war this is where the young Cambodians learn the ancient
arts of their ancestors. The most interesting part to visit is
the Dance Academy where the young children practice the graceful
movements of the beautiful national dances. We will continue
to the National Museum, in a traditional red pavilion,
which is dedicated exclusively to Khmer art and sculpture. The
majority of the exhibits are from the Angkor period (9th to 15th
Century), but some date from as early as the 4th Century. then
visit of the Wat Onalome pagodae.
This afternoon If you would like to see, you will visit Tuol
Sleng Genocide Museum and we will visit one of the city's
lively open-air markets Psar Tuol Tom Pong, called Russian
Market, where we can find mix of silks, gems, silver, antiques,
etc, and the Central Market.
Day 3 : PHNOM
PENH /SIEM REAP
Transfer to the the harbor at 6 AM
transfer to the speed boat to Siem Reap-Angkor. (about
5 hours boat) . Landscape and scenic views of the Cambodian
rural life along the riverbank (optional by air, extra 45 dollars). At
arrival in Siem Reap Port,Transfer to your hotel in Siem reap.
Siem Reap is the nearest town to the famous Angkor Complex.
From the 9th to 15th century, Angkor was the heart of a sophisticated
civilisation. We will see massive stone monuments. Afternoon,
We start by visit with professional guide and prived car the
"Great City" of Angkor Thom. Visits include
the famous Bayon Temple, Phimeanakas Temple within
the Royal Palace enclosure , Baphuon Temple, the
Terrace of the Elephants and the Terrace of the Leper
King. late afternoon
we will visit Bakheng Temple on the top of a hill with
spectacular views over Angkor Wat and watch sunset on all
Angkor site. overnight in hotel
Day 4 : ANGKOR
(Siem Reap)
Morning, with professional
guide and prived car, the visit
will include temples Thommanon,
Takeo, one of Angkor's great mountains temple, Ta Prohm
who become part of the jungle, Banteay Kdei with attractive
carvings, Srah Srang, Prasat Kravan unique brick
sculptures
Afternoon dedicated to visit the most famous temple magnificent
Angkor Wat. This architectural masterpiece was constructed
in the 12th century and covers an area of about 210 hectares.
Beautifull carved bas- reliefs on the outer walls and corridors,
depicting mythological scenes of Ramayana and day to day life
at the time of Angkor's building.. We will visit Les Chantiers Ecole, a handicraft
center located in the center of Siem Reap. Les Chantiers Ecole
was founded in 1992 and its aim is to revive that ancient
Khmer art. This organization gives young people the opportunity
to learn the art of stone and wood carving, and silk weaving
. Overnight at Siem Reap.
Day 5: VISIT BANTEAY SREI
/ KBAL SPIEN
Morning we will visit
the enchanting Banteay Srei. It appears that the temple
was designed to leave no space undecorated, and the fine carvings
in pink sandstone are unique.We will continue after by car to a little chain of hills. After one hour, we will
arrive in a place near Kbal Spien and continue our journey
on foot, following a white sand path through the beautiful forest.
several narrow and steep passages , after approximately 40 minutes
walk, we will hear the sound of a waterfall . the riverbed and
the rocks around, are covered with carvings representing the
gods of the Brahma religion dating back as far as the 11th century,
its the "thousand Lingas Rivers" The water runs
over the sculptures of Vishnu, Lakshmi, Hanuman, Rama and many
Lingas, which were carved in stone in the past to sanctify the
water and to thank the gods .
After this visit, we will go to Banteay Samre, with elaborate
architecture and exceptional carvings, and we will visit of a
local village. and visit of Baray Oriental sites, built by Rajendravarman
, Preasat Khleang, Mébon Oriental.
DAY 6: PLANE SIEM
REAP - PHNOM PENH/ DEPARTURE
Transfert morning to Siem reap airport
and domestic flight from Siem Reap to Phnom Penh. |
